Birdwoods has been selling Gift Bangura's work for over 15 years and has enjoyed working with him and building up a solid working relationship. Gift works from Tengenenge Sculpture Community, the home of the Zimbabwe stone sculpture movement and is a second generation sculptor. We have always found if fascinating that Gift consistently produces strong geometric pieces very similar to pieces that Pablo Picasso made, however, Gift is a very modest man and until recently never even heard of Picasso! It is said that Picasso travelled to Africa, so whom was being inspired by whom?
